Child Therapy

Who does Dr. Marsh treat?

In terms of treatment services, Dr. Marsh provides highly specialized therapy services to children, teens, and young adults who are struggling with specific challenges, including:
  • Anxiety Disorders (generalized anxiety, separation anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, and specific phobias)
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Tic Disorders and Tourette's syndrome
  • Selective Mutism

Many people who struggle with these challenges may also present with co-morbid concerns regarding depressed mood, self-esteem, poor coping skills, weak attention skills, and social skills deficits.

What does treatment include?

Dr. Marsh works together with children and families to develop the most appropriate treatment plan for their unique concerns.  Sessions typically include a combination of individual, parent, and family sessions.  Sessions are currently conducted either in-person (with appropriate safety precautions) or via a telehealth platform.  Dr. Marsh also often collaborates with the child's school when appropriate.

Trained in a variety of treatment approaches, Dr. Marsh will work with you to determine the best combination of treatments.  This may include Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Comprehensive Behavior Therapy Intervention for Tics (CBiT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), among others.
“Sensitive, empathic, and creative.”

“Expressing a desire to learn from clients, learn new approaches, and thinking outside the box.”

These are words that others have used to describe Dr. Marsh’s clinical approach.  Dr. Marsh focuses on client strengths, resiliency, and empowerment, helping them to become their own critically aware advocates.

Payment

Dr. Marsh does not accept insurance and is an out-of-network provider with insurance companies.  Many health insurance companies will pay for some portion of the therapy services.  However, because Dr. Marsh does not bill insurance companies directly, payment is expected from clients at the time of service.  Please inquire with Dr. Marsh regarding specific fees.
